Cimbalom Deconstruction

by Scentient Pencils

/

about

Being fascinated with cimbalom sounds and desperate for long ambience (mostly as a personal sleep aid), I sampled the intro of Mihai Trestian's "Doină la Țambal" and morphed it beyond recognition before playing it back at a lower pitch, as the top layer of an electro-sine mash.

Deconstructed using Ambient v4.1, Lissajous M4L, some M4L effect bundles and the Bastl Microgranny 2.5 for playing back the pitched down version. The warm sinewave comes from an audio signal generator (a piece of test equipment) I use quite a lot on these things.

Recording & Mixed at home, using Tascam DR-05 & Audacity.
